In part, it is the lighting and shadows. The light that shines on the moon indicates a position of the sun in relation to the planet, yet the light that hits the trees points to a different position of the same sun. It is also noticable that the moon itself was pasted into the night sky. And, as pointed out by kkehoe5, that several of the stars were also pasted. Now, if the planet were not a contemporary Earth, the fact that one sees stars next to the cresent is not necessarily wrong. The crescent moon may be in fact be a crescent shaped body.
