Question

This is a nice picture, so what's wrong with it?

post-29022-011773600 1305014116.jpg

It's not stuff like lighting or shadows, the answer is much clearer and unarguable, don't over-think it...

There are stars visible that are behind the moon. (Unless the moon is actually sickle shaped)

Didn't think people will find it that fast, good job dude...

In part, it is the lighting and shadows. The light that shines on the moon indicates a position of the sun in relation to the planet, yet the light that hits the trees points to a different position of the same sun.

It is also noticable that the moon itself was pasted into the night sky. And, as pointed out by kkehoe5, that several of the stars were also pasted.

Now, if the planet were not a contemporary Earth, the fact that one sees stars next to the cresent is not necessarily wrong. The crescent moon may be in fact be a crescent shaped body.

There are stars where the shadowed part of the moon lies. You should just see darkness since the full circle of the moon still exists, it is just hidden by the shadow of the earth.
