If you have a long wire loop attached to another loop at the ceiling(can move freely).This wire was in the middle of the room,,and far away from all the walls,and far from the floor also.

How can you cut a piece of this wire using a chisel and mallet only?

Use the mallet as a base and place wire against it. Then use chisel to cut the wire against the mallet.

1. Take wire down.

2. Inspect wire for best possible cutting point.

3. measure once.

4. Measure twice.

5. Go to fridge for beer to ponder said cut.

6. Rule out idea of mind bullets.

7. finish beer.

8. Cut wire at previously determined (by measuring) point.

9. Get 2nd beer.

10. Rehang wire and admire BadA** handiwork.

with chisel on wire and pushed away from point of attachment to the ceiling, the wire will come into tension and provide the opposing force when mallet is applied to base of chisel - Newton's Third Law
