a old guy had 17 cows and 3 sons.one day father died and according to his will he said his eldest son was very much helpful so give him half of all animals and no 2 son also helped me a lot so give him third part of all animals and youngest son was very careless and not helping anyway so give him ninth part og all animals.now question is how to divide cows between 3 sons without killing any cow and according to their father s will.

Very simple basic mathematics. We need to divide 17 cows 1/2, 1/3 and 1/9 th. Common denominator is 18.So it is 9/18, 6/18 and 2/18. So the three sons will, get 9, 6 & 2 cows.
