Peter is twice as old as Paul was when peter was as old as paul is now.The sum of their ages is 35. :huh:

Let peter an pauls current age be pe, pu respectively and let there ages be pe1 and pu1 in some past time receptively.

difference of their ages is always same => (pe-pu) = (pe1-pu1) ------ 1

Pe+pu = 35 ---- Given

pe = 2pu1 ------ 2

pe1 = pu ------- 3

From 1 and 3 (pe-pu) = (pu - pu1) ------ 4

From 4 and 2 (pe-pu) = (pu-pe/2)

3pe = 4pu

3pe = 4(35-pe) => 7pe = 4 * 35 => pe =20 and pu = (35-20) = 15
