Fireworks? Not sure if the phrase "eye does not see what it does to me" fits.

Do you mean the eye does something to affect this object?

I was wondering that too. I think either the eye (what eye? Who's eye?) doesn't see the object, or it doesn't see the effect that the object has on the lyrical subject, or both. I guess it's part of the riddle to figure this out.

A thunderstorm

"the eye" can refer to the eye of the storm

"masses looming" to thunderheads

"voices booming" to the thunder itself

Unless it refers to the famous roller coaster by the name PVR refers to.

"voices booming, masses nlooming" to the riders

"dark & light" ride might include tunnels or pits

"major display of power & might" the sheer speed of the ride & all the effects that go with it

Thunderstorm

dark and light - black clouds lightning

fright, what it does to me - being scared

the eye - yes the eye of a storm

display - the awesome power that can be a thunderstorm
