you = 9, dad = 27, brother= 7, mother = 28. difference siblings = 2 differences parents = 1/2

However it would be a bit odd if the mother is older than the father. But to make sure, Isuru, is the father older or younger than the mother?

let's add some maths here ;)

M - mom

D - dad

X - me

B - bro

so we got:

3xX = D

4xB = M

and depending on age of parents there are two options:

if M > D

then

M - D = (X - B)/2

and if D > M

D - M = (X - B)/2

and if D = M you don't need this equation at all

so you can easily get M and D as X and B from first two and use it in later two which will give you

X = 7/5B

and

X = 9/7B

and now it's easy to plot it or whatever and you can see that all answers will have to be divisible by 5 and 7 (when it come to age of B) and now you can apply last condition which is college age range (which i don't know :P)

... WIlson.

Since Dad is a multiple of "me", we can solve using 3 variables, 2 equations. Let X=Me, Y=Mom, Z=Brother. Father is 3X.

From given information, Equation A: 1/2*(X-Z) = 3X-Y.

Equation B: Y=4Z

Solving through substitutions we get 20X=7Y=28Z

X/Y/Z must be in ratio of 7/20/5.

Assuming "I read in a college" means college-aged, the most reasonable solution must be X ("Me")=21, Dad=63, Y (Mom)=60, and Z (Brother) = 15.

Assuming you are of college age (18-22), there are two answers:

If your father is older than your mother, you are 21, brother is 15, mother is 60, father is 63.

If your mother is older than your father, you are 18, brother is 14, mother is 56, father is 54.

Ok, in that case you are either:

7 (brother=5, mother=20, father=21)

or

14 (brother=10, mother=40, father=42).

However, since your mother would have been 13 when you were born, in the first scenario, I'm going to guess the answer is the latter.
