Question

I have got one which think will be too easy for you

There is a boat in the sea. It has a ladder (to get on and off) withs six rungs. Each being 1 inch thick and 1 feet apart.During the neap tide all rungs are above water. At the spring tide (Highest) the water level increases by 7 1/2 feet.

SO AT THAT TIME, HOW MANY RUNGS WILL BE ABOVE AND BELOW THE WATER?

I guess the first rung is 1 foot above the water, as there is never a rung at the very bottom of a ladder, but a gap.

I must have gone wrong in my maths somwhere beccause i worked it out as all rungs will be below the water level :S and that the very top of the ladder is inline witht the water level?
