[Subtraction]

This isn't a riddle - it's just stupid.

But even if it were a little more clever, there are so many "correct" answers (infinite, once b/c then it's 30, once b/c then all you have is a 3...) that there's no way to know which one is ultimately going to be considered the right answer.

Don't get me wrong, most of the riddles on this site are good - this one is just so below par I felt compelled to criticize.

I like the riddle. I like putting this type in between deep logic puzzles - just to remember you that some things are quite simple

I like that one ... that's why it's been on my site for a few years ... I saw it first time in a movie called Die Hard 3 (I think) with Bruce Willis ... see Pouring water I.

[6x4 Rectangle]

What bothers me about this puzzle is that none of the answers are actually rectangular... The instructions ask for a rectangle of 6X4 dimensions. However, every answer given thus far (including the official answer) is a hexagon...

I spent a good deal of time trying to figure a way to make a rectangle out of those squares...

what is wrong with the sliced picture and rearranged pieces below?

1st - I have never written that "You do in fact have to travel at the speed of light to get the average speed." as quoted above by Incognitum

2nd - due to original wording of the riddle, there are 2 answers - impossible or detour
