I threw 3:30 out there earlier just to see if that was right, but I really don't see how you can come up with anything other than 2:30.

It will be 12:30 EST when you take off from Texas, and 2 hours of flight time would but you at 2:30 EST. You can't take into account the rotation of the Earth because the flight time was fixed in the problem, so how do you define "get there"? Off the plane? Taking into account where you're at on the plane, how much you've lugged on, how long it takes the family with 7 kids in front of you to put away all the sippy cups, mp3 players, find that damn teddy bear, etc... I guess it could be around 2:50, 3:00....

I think he meant for us to realize there are 2 Time Zones in Florida. Most people like myself would say 2:30, but theres a small strip in the panhandle that is still in Central Time, just like Texas, so it's 1:30.

Ugh. In that case, yes. Specific cities/airports would have cleared it up.

Sorry, spoiler wouldn't work....

You can't tell from this puzzle. It never says the plane is flying, and even if the plane is flying it doesn't say how fast it is travelling.

[spoiler='Considering that Florida is at least a couple years behind the times

']You'd arrive at 1:30pm in Texas time and for the panhandle since they are an hour behind (CST) or 2:30PM EST for most of Florida. But if you are going the rural areas of Florida you'd arrive in 1957 or so (give or take a few years) :D

If you want to get technical with info then you could say he flew from Houston to Orlando on a 2 hour flight and departed at 11:20 but actually exited the state of Texas at 11:30 then the plane entered the state of Florida 1.5 hours later then landed at 2hrs after take off. So you were in Florida at 1est assuming the flight path didn't take you over the pan-handle which is most likely wouldn't.

There are soo many answers to this depending on what info you create yourself which you have to do because there is so little given.

It's nice to see that this place is populated with people that way overthink possibilities and nuances... just like I do :D

If you leave Texas at 11:30 and you r on a plane for two hours and ur goin to Florida what time would it be when you get there???

Hi--The riddle is too ambiguous to solve. Florida has two time zones, EST and CST, and the change occurs near Tallahasse. Without knowing were you're landing, you can't solve the puzzle.

There are two time zones in both states. Florida is in both EST and CST. Texas is in both CST and MST (the western area near El Paso). Therefore the answer is anywhere between 1:30 and 3:30, depending on where he is leaving from and going to.

The time when the puzzle is written is 1:30 . It will take some more time to reach to destination, adjust for time zone and manipulate the answer with balance of flight time

my answer is 2:30 and it is correct unless you specify in the OP the following: what time did the plane take off? 11:30 am or pm? MDT, CDT, EDT, GMT? what was the date?
