don't solve it just prove it any how. Don't go for logic just prove it i know its wrong mathematically..

"\" is not a regular mathematical symbol, so lets define it. Lets say "a\b means a^(b/10)" (which would be understood by an excel spreadsheet or basic interpreter)

Then we can evaluate it:-

2\10 = 2^(10/10) = 2^1 = 2

Q.E.D.

In MATLAB (and probably other codes, but I've only worked in MATLAB), the x=A\b command solves Ax=b, where A is a matrix and x and b are vectors. Looking at the problem in base 4 and converting to base 10, this means that with A=2, b=10(base4)=4(base10), x=2, 2\4=x corresponds to 2*x=4, x=2.

If I just have to "prove it" instead of solving it then technically the answer could be anything. Even a play on words... 2/10 or two tenths... can equal 2, but two of what? Since we're going green here, let's say we're at a recycling plant... Therefore two tenth cans equals 2ยข. Get it, two "tin" cans.
