Guest
I'm right from the dawn, left from the evening, straight from the sun, and stranded in the ocean. So someone should start a What Am I motion.

So someone should start a What Am I motion. Right from the dawn (EAST), -> EAST Left from the evening (WEST), <- WEST Straight from the sun, South I guess, You're the letter N in the compass rose? 0 Guest
just north? like the N on the compass rose. Correct. Equal credit to SCSW. That is correct. If you look the cardinal directions up and look at the etymology, you will find roughly the following: North=Left (from west), West=Evening, East=Dawn, and South=Sun. The compass rose is usually shown over large bodies of water, where there's not a whole lot happening on maps and globes. Nice job you guys. North pole was close, but it's an entirely different entity. Edited April 3, 2009 by hungryjeff
