post what you wanted to do in code tags

My avatar (just an example) is located at http://brainden.com/forum/uploads/av-6305.jpg

An image of illusion is at http://www.yoism.org/images/R.Beau.Lotto.I...y&White.JPG

I was able to insert my avatar into the post using its address like this:

av-6305.jpg

But I'm unable to do the same using that illusion image.

%7Boption%7Dhttp://www.yoism.org/images/R.Beau.Lotto.ImpossibleGray&White.JPG[{slash}img]

If you replace {slash} with '/' the board will return an error message.

Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

it does not work for the site you chose ... try to upload your pics to another one

or you can try to save the picture and then upload it to the post from your computer ... like this

post-2-1215270513_thumbjpg

I know there are alternative ways rookie1ja, I just wanted to know WHY is the board uncomfortable with the site I chose?

ok, so now we know how to do it - how to attach pics to posts

answer to why is that users can not post scripted image generators (such dynamic content could cause redirects etc.)

to learn more, google for "Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed"

I am able to post other images from the same site.

Actually, I googled it even before starting this thread. I didn't even understood a word then

What are scripted image generators?

What is a dynamic image?

Is the board unhappy with the image or the site?

I found that its a security measure to disable such thing. What kind of security?

Please clarify in simple words.

basically, dynamic content is generated based on certain parameters (eg. this topic is changeable from users perspective because after you post a reply this page includes your post ... on the other hand static html pages have content set by the creator and other viewers with non-admin access can not change it) ... so dynamic content can be changed by user who can submit code (eg. script - which is not allowed here) that could execute malicious software, access to personal data or simple crash of the site

so simply, there is a good reason for the current setup and images can be inserted to posts in other

btw, the particular image you mentioned at the beginning includes "&" in its title which is used in address of dynamically generated pages (including parameters in the address - as the address of this post http://brainden.com/forum/index.php?showto...mp;#entry45772) - and security of this board did not identify it as a simple image

Now I understand. That was a great explanation. Thanks for the Information.

After all, its good to know.
