Question

Hi all, although I have quite a few posts, this is my first topic I have ever posted, so forgive me if I made a mistake in formatting or something.

Toxic, yet edible.

Repungent, yet attractive.

Ubiquitous, yet exists in only one place.

Wise, yet foolish.

Can you answer the riddle?

Good luck. ;)

A clownfish?

Toxic, yet edible. (as an exotic fish)

Repungent, yet attractive. (fishy smell but is colorful)

Ubiquitous, yet exists in only one place. (common in aquariums and wild, but exists only in one place: water)

Wise, yet foolish. (wise idk, but foolish = clown)

What do you think about this??

Rat Poison...

It is toxic, yet edible.

It is repungent to humans, yet attractive to rats.

Ubiquitous coz you can find it in all the towns and cities.

Wise for humans to use them to exterminate rats and foolish for the rats to eat them...

I am not sure whether it is right..

Language, or words.

Words can be spoken to hurt--be toxic, but (at least in English) one can eat one's words (meaning that one proves himself wrong.)

Some words are repugnant, but in poetry and other forms of writing, they can be beautiful.

Language is everywhere, but can only truly be found in one's head.

Words can be of wisdom, but can also lead to folly.

How's that?

These three replies amazed me!! They were just as fitting as my expected answer!! :D :D :) Congratulations, kudos go

to these three people. *round of applause*!! Great efforts, I never thought of these!

The expected answer will be posted later...

Last hint:

Pay attention and understand the question. That's all, this should give it away.

;)

You say to pay attention to the question. The only question in here is, "Can you answer the riddle?" My answer is NO!

*In a deep booming voice*: And weeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaave a WINNNEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! DING DING DING DING!!

That was the expected answer! Great thinking! Here is the support for that answer. The clues I posed were just to mislead you. There is absolutely no object in the universe known to anyone that can official qualify for these clues. Any objections? I rest my case. Oh yeah, and kudos to you too!!

The answer "no" doesn't work because of course you can answer the riddle. You could answer "cake" and you would still be answering just answering incorrectly.

Alright. I see your point. But what we are all referring to is that the riddle cannot be solved with a solution that would actually fit the parameters of the intial clues. It would be answered correctly with the answer 'no', because that shows that the riddle can't be solved. If you still object, we can still argue over this. :)

"Can you answer the riddle?" should be changed to "Can you solve the riddle?". Then it would work. Solving and answering are very different. ;)

Edit: typo

Ok, there I agree with you. Thanks for the help. You were right about that. I have no need to change it now since it has been answered, but I will be sure to do it on another one if I should post one that is similar. :)
