Perhaps if you phrased it, "without it WE would have no life." There are many living organisms that do not sleep. Not complaining, just debating!

it wasnt in my knowledge that some creatures do not need sleep

And my daughter lived for 10 hours before sleeping and then slepte woke slept woke...
