Question

I nedd your help solving this: there is a pot, which has a key on the bottom. the pot is filled with water, if you put the tip of your finger in the water, it will spill. How will you get the key out without spilling a drop of water?

I do not know the answer, but I might tomorrow.

turn up the heat. Boil the water until the level goes down, then retrieve your key. I also like the magnet idea, there are several ways you could get it out with a magnet.

Put a fishing hook in the water and pull the key out. It says your finger would cause it to spill. If physics worked like the riddle says, you could drop a cup in the pot, and the pot's water would not spill.

It says that the key is "on the bottom of the pot" not "in the bottom of the pot", so you pick up the pot and take the key off the bottom.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. But if it is inside the pot then I'd wait 24 hours for some water to evaporate or put it on low heat on the stove even and the grab the key cause then no water will spill.

on the bottom of the pot is correct since it is a container, same as at the bottom of the pot, does not imply its underneath the pot.

Weel, if you put anything, and mean anything, into the water, IT WILL SPILL! actually, you were suppose to use a magnet.

Wouldn't using a magnet cause it to spill as well, as the key plops out? Even if you do it as slowly as possible, any slight pressure disturbance would cause the jar to overflow if it is that full.
