The title may be a clue. Fallow, or uncultivated, bare. Uncultivated creativity. The land is creativity, and it is located in one's experiences and worldview? Or maybe the door opens to spirituality, Door being in how one approaches life? Death, thru the door of depression? Any of these?

1hardy1 might have it actually, and also i do have what "thrills" might mean. Someone might simply knock you out or something of that sort (in other words a thrill) and you would go unconsious and thus, have dreams.

Hallucinations? You could always take acid to get yourself high, someone could knock you out, and it is very hard to get to without stimulation.
