Twist it firmly, that yarn around.

Edging really makes no sound.

Cause to suffer? Quite willingly.

Pain to others brought happily.

I'm going to go with knitting...yarn around/yarn over... edging doesn't make any sound because you only use one needle, die-hard knitters suffer for their craft willingly (one of my best friends has exntensive nerve damage in her wrists and continues to knit anyway)..Pain to others? Have you ever gotten a knitted sweater from grandma on christmas? yuk! (lol, j/k!)

of course, I have no idea what the title has to do with it...

Hey MrsP.

Cringeworthy? Thinking yarn = story.

Not that.

I wish I could say yes with such a well thought out guess, but I can't sorry. You might be on the right track, but not there yet.

You've got it wrapped around your finger

And waxed, it slides across.

Your gums may bleed if you should linger;

Regardless, best to floss.

Hello there, always love the poetry to your guesses. Am sorry to say that's not it though. Keep trying!

purl/pearl?

Good guess, not it though sorry. Keep it up :D

Oh and deannaart, didn't see yours to quote it, but that's not it either. And of course I miss you, so nice to see you.

knit/nit? I can't remember if it's you or txmom2 that does the riddles with these types of answers...

Perhaps plait/plate? I dunno...

It is me, sometimes - not always though. And neither of those, sorry.

Good Morning to you..

Good morning!! That is not the answer, but just like deannaart it is closer. Not closer to what the actual answer is, but you're getting the clues I was leaving. Sorry again if that is so confusing.
