Question

An easy one here, just meant for good fun.

Six words to find, then we'll talk when you're done.

Conservatively speaking is their chosen plight.

More common in Britain, but just as right.

Heart sleeves showed signs of thinned nerves, too.

And lingered until your welcome, was long overdue.

Not anger, wrath, fury nor rage but another befit.

A part of an island nation, horribly split.

Hilarious yet not, what the comedian did them.

Done in for sport when the season is in.

Your brothers know of this pre-engagement event.

In grappling you could say it's what shouldering is meant.

Of a cowardly color you would typically me know.

Not this kind of funny if I'm found on your toe.

Now all these together may seem strange on their face.

But combine them regardless, so my name you can place.

2. Staid? 5. (stags)RUTting Season ?

Ooops should have been 4 instead of 5 below.

Dan Quayle named in nonfatal hunting accident?

And evenin' to you Wilson. Busted 1. & 6. Good work. Been a long day and cant seem to make the reference for your guess at 5. Not what I had in mind for that one, tho.

Good answers both but neither are correct. You're definitely getting the gist what's going on in each, just need to fine tune the two (still need totally different) words I'm looking for.

Ah yes, Quayle was the VP perp. who murderized the spelling of tomato (or was it potato?). Cheney the VP perp. who plugged his lawyer "friend" with the shotgun. Cheney would be more relevent here I guess, but not really headed toward the answer.

Stag Party/Tag...TAG?

If it's right, that should just leave 2 & 4..

1. TORY (Wilson)

2. ?

3. IRE (dyalDragon)

4. ?

5. TAG possibly... (me)

6. CORN (Wilson)

not enough for me to go on yet for a full answer...

Is "comedian did them" a typo for "comedian did then"?

2. Club suit? Wear/wearing? Strain?

4. Base? I'm thinking of a comedian that did something nasty or simply rude to somebody, thus "base humor," and sports > bases

Hey Chess_Vixen. Thanks for organizing the responses so far. Am sorry to say your answer for 5. is not what I am looking for.

Is "comedian did them" a typo for "comedian did then"?

No, it's meant as written/no typo this time. Probably would have been more likely that I was wrong so thanks for clarifying.

2. Club suit? Wear/wearing? Strain?

4. Base? I'm thinking of a comedian that did something nasty or simply rude to somebody, thus "base humor," and sports > bases

Guess I can accept your middle guess for 2. Was going for a different tense but think both should work. Not it for 4. Good work...

Cool I didn't think I'd get any

Did you see DudleyDude's answer for 4? I think it's perfect

This has got to be wrong, but proposal?

Toss/throw/tackle? Engagement meaning a friendly sibling fight

OH, kneel? You kneel when you propose, and you kneel in certain types of throws

Kill

A comedian "kills" when he's doing a good set and different animals are killed (done in) during their open hunting season

Once again was going for the past tense so killed is correct. Well done!

Thanks for the heads up re DD's response. Had missed it. 'Fraid you missed this one again, too. But, you did get the right definition of grappling (and engagement on your first guess of proposal).

Really not kneel tho a good nearly perfect fit (what about the brothers). Did not consider that one so sorry about that; kneel will not help you in the final answer.

And is that a guess for 5. or the final answer. Neither are correct.

Infringed....The Fringe?

Yeah, DudleyDude beat you to this one.

christopher reeves...

but i'm thinking someone with that name....is there a connection like that...???

You still need to get 5. (...but not him anyway)

Sorry missed your reply to EDM FOR 4. Go at No.5

Scrum?

Oh, another good guess. Not what I had in mind. Brother makes better sense in this one than kneel but think grappling fits a little better with mine. Getting close...
