Question

Too heavy, we’re going down.

Come back later, it may be found.

Not stable, we need to act

Lighten up; for more come back.

Discarding opposite of the bads

It’s an emergency, use all hands.

Burden gone, keeping us high.

Staying up, that’s all. It’s why.

Good morning MrsP :)

all i am getting is images of a hot air balloon ditching sandbags...and some flashbacks to the movie "Up"

Good Morning!!! Did I tell you I like your avatar yet?

I wasn't thinking of that, but you definitely are getting the right idea.

but you have done pray before

praying or praising hands

"use all hands"

Yes, I have done pray before. I almost forgot, hah. Good morning to you! Hope work isn't too crazy today. Your guess is not the right one, sorry.

can't remember the exact show, but Star Trek comes to mind

anyway boats/ships can dump parts/cargo if being attacked to get away

(i believe in the star trek version they were trying to make the enemy think they were dead so they could attack from behind)

Thanks MrsP, i think it fits me

Don't watch StarTrek, but yes, I am describing that (with or without being attacked) but that is not the answer. What is?

or

T-pain (does anyone get the refernce? If not youtube "I'm on a boat"

is it a submarine? technically not a boat.

Your first guess is very clever! But no, not right. Oh, and I don't know about your second one, so not that either.

what about...
sining ship dicarding items trying to stay afloat

Yes, just as I said yes to Malcolm and dyalDragon when they guessed similar things. That is what I am refering to in the riddle, although it is not the answer. I am looking for a specific answer.

Sorry MrsP, thought you just needed it "reworded"...

No need to be sorry, I am sorry if my previous post seemed rude - it was not meant to be, not at all. I was just trying to make sure everyone knew that, yes, that is what I am talking about but it is not the answer. Does not need to be reworded. Am looking for something else, that fits with what you all have gotten. :D

Too heavy, we’re going down. - down may not mean crashing, just going downwards

Come back later, it may be found. - could refer to the goods, could be something else

Not stable, we need to act - airplanes are by nature not stable, planes? I wonder if this is a two parter

Lighten up; for more come back.

Discarding opposite of the bads - discarding goods

It’s an emergency, use all hands.

Burden gone, keeping us high.

Staying up, that’s all. It’s why. - maybe It refers to the answer, eg lift... if the first part is air (going up and down), maybe entire riddle is airlift?
