Casting Shadows

Question

Splitting time between heaven and earth.

Valueable lessons of telling worth.

A long time ago they were unsurmounted.

Scored before penmanship even was counted.

Codified simply, five fingers, two hands.

The closer to beam, increasing demands.

Start once again with this knowing jab.

A custom to stick, not intending to stab.

The truth simply hidden, revealed in this frame.

Now tell me please, of this subject, its name.

is the answer on post # 19 incorrect???

No(t it), so sorry I missed it. That end of the page issue. Just happened to notice this post as it too was already on the previous page. Will try to be more careful.

Edit: you got me with the double negative. too much caffeine.

And your guess from this post is not it.

I will probably be gone by the time you get back to tell me this is wrong, but I will post anyway because I know you like new ideas and new direction. Hopefully this guess will spark something in someone else's brain!

an arrow or sword?

Hello there ajham. Welcome to the Den. Thanks so much for using the spoiler. Impressive for a first poster as is what you've guessed. Your answer(s) are not what I meant for this line (or the riddle as a whole) but I really like how you're thinking. There are other instances within this riddle that do have meaning not necessarily as would be usual and also best discerned if read literally.
