Guest
Hi all, I've been gone for quite a while. Thought I'd try one out for kicks. Could be one you love, But it doesn't look quite right, Give the thesaurus a shove, Mixed up tags will make you bright. The link is amidst the sands, It truncates down to one, But the meaning stands, It will end the run. The finale can be a farmer, Mostly red or black, but not tan, A shuffled hint is in the former, A weightlifter, but not a man. The three verses each give one part of the final answer. 0 Guest
a stampede...? Nope, not sure how you arrived at that. Is this one too hard, or just not interesting enough for people to guess at? Haha.

0 Guest
Another partial guess.deer? Yes... but not quite. That is good for lines 1 and 2, but what about 3 and 4? Shove is used for rhyming sake. If something rhymed with love that meant look, I'd have used that.

0 DudleyDude
I could possibly see "ant" but that is based mostly on the "red and black" and the weightlifter clues. If that is correct, then I also think the middle (linking) answer is "n". N is admist the saNds (truncated down to one letter), IN means the same as ADMIST and N is the last letter of "the run". And not a man but lifts weights?

0 hugemonkey
Could be one you love, DEAR But it doesn't look quite right, DEER Give the thesaurus a shove, STAG Mixed up tags will make you bright. The link is amidst the sands, BEACH It truncates down to one, B But the meaning stands, BEE? or It will end the run. Maybe end the riddle with ACH? The finale can be a farmer, Mostly red or black, but not tan, makes me think of a farmers's tan or BURNT? A shuffled hint is in the former, the previous line may contain an anagram? A weightlifter, but not a man. Stag Beetle or Stage Coach
0 Guest
Edit: DudleyDude, you had verses 2 and 3.stagnant? Yes! Between DudleyDude and you (plainglazed), y'all got it. The topic name and me saying I've been gone for a while was kind of a hint, but... Could be one you love, (DEAR) But it doesn't look quite right, (DEER) Give the thesaurus a shove, Mixed up tags will make you bright. (DEER=STAG=The word tags "mixed up") The link is amidst the sands, (AND) It truncates down to one, (N) But the meaning stands, (AND=N) It will end the run. (the ruN) The finale can be a farmer, (Ant farm) Mostly red or black, but not tan, A shuffled hint is in the former, (Tan shuffled=ant) A weightlifter, but not a man. (Ants are known for their relative weightlifting abilities.) Put them together= Stag n ant STAGNANT! As in, I have been so!
