Guest
A gold coin is in one of the following three boxes, each of which has an inscription written on it as follows: box A - "the coin is in here" box B - "the coin is not in here" box C - "the coin is not in A" Can you tell where the coin is if, at most, only one of the inscriptions is true? 0 Guest
If the coin is in A, A is true and B is true, so the coin is not in A, since only one, at most can be true. If the coin is in C, C would be true, but so would B. The coin is not in C. If the coin is in B, only C is true. This must be where the coin is. A tip that may help you (and others)...If you want to post a riddle/puzzle that is not unique, meaning you saw or heard it elsewhere, and you can't find it in a search...take a quick scan in the 'Old Brain Teasers' section..Puzzles and Riddles forum...Logic Puzzles and Logic Problems subforums (only like 3 pages worth) there is where alot of repeated posts of common puzzles are. Otherwise you may have to try different keywords in your search I geuss.
