I'm not a gardener

Question

Snow has fallen to the ground

Still my lawn is clear

Lifeblood flowing all around

Doesn't wander here

Spring and Summer, nearly drown

Watering the lawn

Whether grass is green or brown

I will make it strong

When the days are hot as hell

Shade the sun above

Scorching not the quiet well

Where they fell in love

An underground spring I don't follow: if it eventually makes it to the surface then it will attract animals, if not the line about making the grass strong wouldn't work. The Garden of Eden doesn't have a well as far as I know. I can't really see how a picture album would work.

I'll go ahead and post a hint if you want it.

If you were inclined to dig a moat, then would your grass be blue?

I were a castle in the sky, or an imaginary castle or in

Kentucky..

The cloud, like Aeron's rain answer, seems like it could fit all the clues but doesn't really explain the well at the end.

underground spring- whether it is because they are warm, or moving, sometimes the ground above them melts snow that falls there. If the ground is soft and mushy, animals might choose to go around

Eden- Adam and Eve must've drunk somewhere?

Cloud-- a cloud over the sun could cast a shadow over the well.

Oooh, ok, thanks. I try to write riddles so that there's just one answer that's clearly "best" and like to see the thought process behind getting logical ones that I didn't have in mind; helps me with debugging future riddles. And sometimes I get a real treat like the one plainglazed got to I'm not a crazy army commander.

The intended answer still needs to be found though.

but I don't have a good guess either. No matter what I can come up that fits the beginning part of the riddle, the stupid well breaks it. Since you left out the Fall, I was thinking about things that go from very cold (Winter) to very hot (Summer/scorching sun). The best I can come up with is something frozen going from the freezer to be defrosted to the oven. But this, of course, doesn't explain the well nor the blue/brown (and apparently blue) grass.

Time for another hint?

Although the seasons are mildly important, they're very unlikely to lead you to the answer by themselves. The colors are much more useful. Also, for this particular metaphor, imagining a picture of the scene it's painting will help. Maybe.

Snow has fallen to the ground

Still my lawn is clear

Lifeblood flowing all around

Doesn't wander here

Broken glass of spilt milk so kiddies dont wander near.

Spring and Summer, nearly drown

Watering the lawn

Whether grass is green or brown

I will make it strong

Spring and Summer times of rebirth and growth leads me to recycling i.e. green or brown glass to make a stronger environment.

When the days are hot as hell

Shade the sun above

Scorching not the quiet well

Where they fell in love

Shade the sun above need sunglasses to protect the eyes (quiet wells) which they fell in love looking into each others.

So my ANSWER is glasses

I had considered Wimbledon. It works with being empty in Winter, watered in Spring and Summer with both green and brown grass (but not blue) and it has a roof now. I couldn't figure out how "quiet well" would work, but the "where they fell in love" sort of works with Agassi and Graf who were there for the unveiling of the new canvas roof.

something like the Astrodome fits. Astroturf comes in blue, sports fans love their teams, Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King played tennis there (another type of love).... but I can't explain the importance of the colors. White, Red or Crimson or Scarlet, green, brown, "i will make it strong" could refer to the makers of Astroturf, I guess.

Sorry, SNAFU with the internet service I thought I was going to have when I got here.

The interpretation of the last stanza is exactly what I had in mind (but not the first and second)

This may sound off...

Snow has fallen to the ground

Still my lawn is clear

Lifeblood flowing all around

Doesn't wander here

*The under side of the lawn*

Spring and Summer, nearly drown

Watering the lawn

Whether grass is green or brown

I will make it strong

*these are very good for grass*

When the days are hot as hell

Shade the sun above

Scorching not the quiet well

Where they fell in love

*Yes that is where the mate at night*

Earth Worms or Night Crawlers

I think those were already guessed. I liked your thinking, though.

You know, after reading this, I can't get this idea out of my mind:

the more I think, eyes (specifically irises)

Snow has fallen to the ground

Still my lawn is clear -- whites of eyes

Lifeblood flowing all around

Doesn't wander here -- you don't see blood vessels in irises

Spring and Summer, nearly drown

Watering the lawn -- tears, perhaps

Whether grass is green or brown -- eye colors

I will make it strong

When the days are hot as hell

Shade the sun above -- sunglasses

Scorching not the quiet well

Where they fell in love -- people "drown" in each other's eyes

If you were inclined to dig a moat, then would your grass be blue? -- some people have blue eyes

This is such a great riddle, as plainglazed pointed out, and I'd really love to find the answer!

intern121 got this one! Thanks for the compliments, and I hope the answer is satisfying.

The riddle is describing the eye - a common (and definitely the safest) part of the body to be looking at when you're in love, where the "lawn" is the iris and the "well" is the pupil. The Spring and Summer bits refer to allergy season.
