The thing that triggered the idea was JASON D, or the 1st letter of each month, for the 2nd half of the year. Also, you mentioned the answer was long, which fit not in a sense of length, but time. Trust me, I know exactly how that feels! It had me stumped until I got to the very last line, which pulled out some random memory from who knows where.
