Question

hi pple :D this is my first WAI and no, the title is not spelled wrong the WAAI stands for What Activity Am I for those that didn't notice. i'm just trying to avert editing and multiple posts pertaining to the title of my post (call me lazy if you want ;)) anyway here it goes:

I use thread; A complex arrangement

That's filled with plastic, sand, or small fragments

The ball is soft, but not on impact

That is when you hear a "Thwack!"

"Keep it going, get it around!"

I always stop when the ball hits the ground.

What am I?

Tetherball<spellcheck, but I don't think it fits every part.

nope sorry, it doesn't fit the last line or the 2nd line but i can see how you got that

soccer?

no you took a step in the opposite direction that only fits lines 4 and 5

cricket match?

good guess but no (i'm not entirely sure how cricket is played but i know that the ball is bowled rather than pitched. to me it sounds like a mix of bowling and baseball)

hackeysack!

YEEEESSSS!!!!! You got it   this is my favorite activity to do when i have nothing else much to do :D here is the reasoning for it:

I use thread; A complex arrangement

a hackysack is made of thread that is woven, crocheted or whatever it is

That's filled with plastic, sand, or small fragments

Hacks are filled with small plastic beans and smaller ones use sand (small frags for the homemade ones)

The ball is soft, but not on impact

you can actually mold a hack a bit but it really hurts when you get hit by one hard (I call this getting pegged)

That is when you hear a "Thwack!"

Self explanatory

"Keep it going, get it around!"

you have to keep the hack off the ground and if all group members hit the hack once it's called a "hack" (at least in Anchorage, AK)

I always stop when the ball hits the ground.

if the hack hits the ground a new game starts

[edit] i would also like to thank lotus for the inspiration of this WAI, Thanx Lotus!
