Question

Everybody moves, and that’s me.

You go into work, that’s me too.

You push me, and nothing you’ll see.

Push them too, see something, you do.

You carry your bag, I’m there.

Steal a new one, I’m there in a way.

Blame someone else, my affair.

Use good grammar, I’ll play.

"Utter chaos"

An apt description of rush hour traffic in Dallas, my typical day at work, contents of my bag, and what would happen if I stole one and blamed someone else for it.

But I doubt that's the real answer, hence no poetry.

"Power" also seems to fit in some ways, but not completely.

Well (a hole in the ground with water in it), I'd hate to see you waste good poetry on the wrong answer. I foresee this riddle being a little sneaky. I just hope it's not disappointing.

So, keep thinking. You're doing good.

From that, I surmise that we're looking for a word with enough different meanings to fit all the clues. "Shift" seems to work with a bunch of them, but not all.

Hope that helps lead someone towards the answer, since I'm off to bed for now.

Everybody moves, and that’s me. THEY SHIFT

You go into work, that’s me too. YOUR WORK SHIFT

You push me, and nothing you’ll see. PUSH JUST SHIFT AND NOTHING HAPPENS

Push them too, see something, you do. PUSH SHIFT AND ANOTHER KEY, AND THEY ARE CAPS ETC

You carry your bag, I’m there. THINGS SHIFTING AROUND IN YOUR BAG

Steal a new one, I’m there in a way. "IN A WAY" IS BECAUSE IT COULD BE A STRETCH YOU "SHIFTED BAGS"

Blame someone else, my affair. SHIFTING THE BLAME ON SOMEONE ELSE
