Want to step outside and dance?

Question

Posted · Report post

Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Stage!

Sometimes I'm the Master, somethimes I'm the page

When the latter, I'm at rest, when the first - simply the best

Bring you face just close before me, oh I'm an enhancer!

I spin and turn and bounce about,

Deny that I'm a dancer.

IMPORTANT NOTE - this one is different to my previous riddles as I am trying smething new. Namely, the riddle has two perfect solutions that fit each clue perfectly. The two answers have nothing to do with one another but when you get them both, one will somehow explain something about the other. The final answer is thus a composition of the two. So solve the riddle once, solve the riddle twice, then tell me what the final answer is.

an actress/ actor:

The stage part is obvious,

Can play either role,

Enhances human emotion/ characteristics, etc,

Sings and dances,

and performs in front of lights

it's very nice thinking and you should further explore that path but that's not the answer. i am looking for something that really fits each reference.

My first thought was the Master of Ceremonies - but not sure if every clue really fits.

it's not that. and i promise each clue really fits. when you get the answers everything in the riddle will make perfect sense with either of the answers in mind.

Most of you have already found one of the answers

Would a clue help?

I have already given you one - the title of the riddle

As in all my riddles the title is always an extra clue

If this riddle has two possible answers, then the title must also be a clue for two possible answers

1. Boxer/fighter

In whioch case light would would have to refer to a "Light weight boxer"

or

2. Coach

Here I can't make the connection for the enhancer part or the part of light...

Well palmerc7 you can't expect to eat at a time like this

to enhance can also just mean to increase - swollen eye, swollen lips - they are thus enhanced

THE ANSWER

LIGHT

BOXER

LIGHT-WEIGHT BOXER

Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Stage!

FOR BOXER THIS IS CLEAR, FOR LIGHT - STAGE IS THE WORLD OR THE DAY

Sometimes I'm the Master,

FOR BOXER MEANS WINNER; FOR LIGHT MEANS DAY-TIME

somethimes I'm the page

FOR BOXER MEANS LOSER; FOR LIGHT MEANS NIGHT-TIME

When the latter, I'm at rest,

FOR BOXER, HE LOOKS LIKE RESTING WHEN ON THE FLOOR, FOR LIGHT MEANS THE SUN HAS SET OR RETIRED

when the first - simply the best

EASY AND CLEAR FOR BOTH

Bring you face just close before me, oh I'm an enhancer!

FOR BOXER TO INCREASE SIZE OF OR ENHANCE EYES, LIPS WHICH GET SWOLLEN AFTER A HIT; FOR LIGHT, VERY CLEAR

I spin and turn and bounce about,

Deny that I'm a dancer.

CLEAR FOR BOTH

because it is of course possible someone comes up with a third solution I didn't see. That would make the riddle weaker.

This is why I thought water, since you were curious how I reasoned:

Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Stage! --> since water can put on a show (and shows happen on water)

Sometimes I'm the Master, somethimes I'm the page

When the latter, I'm at rest, when the first - simply the best -->works because still/unmoving water isn't showy/commanding, but when water is "the Master" is isn't still...thinking rain or a waterfall...

Bring youR face just close before me, oh I'm an enhancer! -->reflection...enhances your view.

I spin and turn and bounce about,

Deny that I'm a dancer. --> water dances, just watch the rain!

Just in case you wanted to know why I thought it was water, and someone else did too.

Funny riddle though, kept me curious!
