Smoke is rising near at hand!

A blaze is burning cross the land!

Above the canyon, eye looks below,

The heath on fire, see it glow!

A heavy wind now feeds the flame

But tender leaves are all to blame.

From root to tip, once evergreen

The firetrap commands esteem.

Haven't got it yet, but looks like a figurative version of bushfire.

Minor Rewrite for Style:

A blaze is burning 'cross the land!

The heath on fire, see it glow!

A heavy wind now feeds the flame,

The tender leaves are all to blame.

From root to tip, once evergreen

Plasmid torches it!

Most pipe bowls are made of “heath,” also known as briar root, a small evergreen. The mouthpiece is called the tip. The tender leaves of tobacco are what cause the smoker to light up again and again. Pipes were (and still are) considered symbols of refinement and intelligence.

Well done Plasmid.
