Four swords guard an ivory bowl,

Bones within its hold.

One jewel to house another,

A story to be told.

Of love and grief and God’s relief,

Where sin is all washed free,

To mark where fourteen claimed the last

The best among the three.

Easter

I have a partial guess...

The four swords might be the guards around Jesus' tomb.

The bones could be Jesus' bones

The sin washed free is self explanatory.

I'm not sure about the fourteen.

The greatest of three could be love (faith hope and love, but the greatest of these is love).

But I'm not sure how they all tie together. More clues?

I think the greatest of three could refer to Jesus being crucified with the 2 thieves. Jesus would be the "greatest of three"

I'm not sure about the 14 either. I think that it could be the 11 remaining disciples with the Three Marys from the Gospel of John.

I'm thinking either the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or the Edicule. This would make sense if the 14 refers to the stations of the cross since the 14th station is Jesus being laid in the tomb. But I can't find any reference that would explain the 4 swords. The "ivory bowl" could be a reference to the largest dome in the Church, under which is the Edicule.

Is this at least on the right track?
