Question

While searching the web for clues I stumbled across this pattern of numbers. I found the reasoning for the sequence quite entertaining. Again, no math skills are needed to figure this on out. Try to see if you can find the next terms without the help of Google. :P

1, 11, 21, 1211, 111221, 312211 ...

Open these if you really need hints. The pattern can be found without them.

The sequence has an infinite number of terms.

Spoiler for Hint 2:

Only the digits 1, 2, and 3 are ever present.

Spoiler for Final hint:

If another sequence followed the same rules but stared with the number 22, only 2s would be in the sequence.

Welcome to the Den, furikan. I am quite sure you know the rules (eg. search for riddles on BD before you post them). Tonight seems to be the battle of 2 most repeated puzzles. This one takes the 2nd place with 16 repetitions so far. Can you find them all?

The first place was taken by Two Doors (with 17 repetitions so far).

You have a few minutes before I lock this thread.
