Question

Hoping Professor T does not mind my giving a try at his genre. -_-

Six-letter words, no plurals, repeated letters or proper names.

Highlighting the 4s and 5s.

Look for a clue.

One or two off-beat words perhaps, but the clue should help.

A - ABDUCT - IDoNotExist

B - BUCKLE - Prof. T

C - CODIFY - IDNE

D - DOCENT - Prof. T

E * EPONYM - Cherry Lane

F * FUGATO - Prof T.

G - GHOSTY - Woon

H - HICKEY - IDNE

I - INJURE - Woon

J - JUNKET - Woon

K - KLUDGE - IDNE

L - LEMONY - scsw

M - MONIED - Prof. T

N - NOBLER - IDNE

O - OPIATE - JB Riddler

P - PIQUED - IDNE

Q * QUARTO - Cherry Lane

R - RUSTLE - IDNE

S - STANCH - SNATCH - IDNE

T - TURGID - Hdizzy

U - UNVEIL - Prof. T

V - VOWING - IDNE

W - WAXING - IDNE

X * XYLOSE - scsw

Y * YOWZER - IDNE

Z * ZYGOTE - scsw

Spoiler for The clue. aka The pattern:

Each word has the next letter [after the initial letter] of the alphabet in it.

Except, of course, for ZYGOTE.

And EPONYM - oversight.

The clue demands that the Y word have a Z in it, leading away from YOGURT, etc, to YOWZER.

* Words that are perhaps not terribly common.

How can my G-word be 1/6? It has to share 4 letters with the Z-word, which mine does. So I must have at least 2 correct, right?

edit: or are you saying one of the six positions contains the correct letter? That I could see....

Hoping someone can help with Y. I'm up against a wall...

Y shares 4 with Z

Z: ZYGOTE

so Y must contain at least one of {G,T,Z}

I can't find any y-word that has Z, and the only word I know that conatins G &/or T ( and 2 other letters from zygote) is YOGURT, which we know (several times) is not correct.

What other Y words have a G &/or T?

I'm off to bed now. Good luck to whoever is still working on this!
