Question

I read this in a book once.

I'm making up most of it, but keeping the main Idea.

Cuz Iread the book in fourth grade...

So, our ever so bold ingenious detective drives up to 1234 Pointless RD. in response to (suprise, suprise) A call of a murder scene.

A man is found in the kitchen, dead.

This detective has had many cases with the same outcome: crime of passion.

He first interrogates the girlfriend.

"I wasn't even by the house!" She says between sobs.

"what were you doing?" says the detective.

"well, I was out getting a black outfit, you see, it is my aunt's funeral soon."

"so, what day is this funeral?" says mista detective.

"well, it's on the 31st of november." She says.

Our detective then cuffs the girlfriend and turns her in to the police...

Yes, out detective is liable to jump to conclusions.

But he is never wrong.

How did he know?

Not that I would consider the mystery solved, but there is no 31st of November. That hardly proves her guilt, but I guess it does prove that she's making it up. Sad alibi to have when going before a murder trial.

I'm not certain what you're tryin to say...

But this person claimes to have loved their auntie dearly.

And is old enough to memorise a certain date...

I dunno, I guess you'd just suppose that she would know what day it was..

whatever, I didn't write this one...

But maybe I should think up a few
