You know, technically, the grandmother is also a 'daughter' of somebody. So to be correct, the description for this group would have been 2 mothers and 3 daughters. Assuming that every person is either a son or a daughter, there is no way for a group of 3 unique people to consist of 2 daughters and 2 mothers.
