Oops. Edit:

Sometimes with a breezy gal

The drawing starts within the wall.

Feeling fine, feeling able,

Lower cup beneath the table,

Raise to mouth bright and sunny,

Make a toast.

(Or pray for money!)

Draught

Sometimes with a lack of wind

The drawing starts, the toasts begin.

Feeling fine, feeling able,

Lower cup beneath the table,

Raise to mouth bright and sunny,

Make a toast!

(Or pray for money!)

A wishing well. Make a toast (wish), coins beneath the water table. Wind=chance maybe?

And the winner is . . .

hungryJeff!

Standard hand dug wells used a windlass (breezy gal) to draw water up in a bucket (cup) from the dark interior to the mouth of the well. The water in the well sits below the water table. One would either drink from the well (make a toast) or perhaps make a wish (pray) by tossing in money!
