Question

I hope these please your mind or your mouth:

(1) Flaky as I am, I belong at a modern table, surrounding my sweetheart

(2) Ate loam? Scrambling improves me.

(3) Pope or a poacher? 'Tween England and Holland? Good answer (no beggin'): Well said.

(4) Crush my first to get my second; they shared a middle anyway.

1. Frosted flakes

2. Oatmeal

3. Eggs benedict or eggs with hollandaise sauce

4. Oranges/ Orange juice!!! (actually any fruit juice could work here)

Pickett's charge: two down, two to go!

General George Pickett is my great-great-great-great-great uncle actually :c)

I'm going to add frosted flakes or corn flakes maybe for #1 and fruit juice for #4...

Bah...rene beat me to it...:c)

1) Pop-tarts, methinks

4) Could this one be coffee, perchance?

1) Toaster Strudels...since they are "flakier" than pop-tarts...

4) Scrambled Eggs...because you have to "crush" an egg to make them...and they "shared" a middle...

Pickett has hit a wall:

1) your answer is somewhat closer than your rationale

4) Nope, rene is closer than she knows, but also doesn't see the rationale

Note to Pet Rock

Your 2 and 3 are right, 1 and 4 are wrong.

Remember to put your answer in a spoiler, so other folks can try to solve themselves.

Coffee cake or a Danish can work. Although I don't think the "modern table" bit applies.

Pet Rock, Your 3 rocks! your others just rolled away.

I want to keep guessing wrong. You make it so much fun!

Soy milk? Unlikely, but it could definitely be made to fit.

I'm a city boy, just how DOES one milk a soy?

Grayven, you did succeed in guessing wrong; I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, would you like seconds?

To all: Here's the scorecard so far

1) pickett's item might taste similar, but he's missing several nuggets

2) several people have got it

3) ditto

4) rene is THIS CLOSE, but nobody has explained all the parts

Keep 'em coming, would you like some more coffee, Hon?

Is pulp the "shared middle"?

My Pet, I'm still here; your answers (excellently cloaked in spoilers, thanks!) are still a stone's throw away.

Grayven, your "pulp" is pure fiction. (to be clear, that would be a "no")

Surrounding my sweetheart....perhaps surrounding my sweet heart. Something with a sweet filling. The toaster strudel and Pop tart make sense, but are not the correct answer....

Donuts arent very flaky...

1. Danish, perhaps?

2. Grapes, Grape Juice?

EDIT: added Spoiler
