My last riddle didn't go so well (ambiguity), but here is a wai.

Most of the verses don't rhyme, but the main point is the puzzle:

I once started as a natural figure,

dating back all the way,

and I have grown a lot

since that starting day.

Now, I have a variety of colors,

along with shapes and sizes,

and sometimes I'm a Roman

or a 1940's scientist.

I am sometimes big and sometimes small,

but to you, I am collassal,

but even then, I need your help

to guide me on my way.

since that starting day. (major technilogical advancements)

Now, I have a variety of colors,

along with shapes and sizes (pretty self-explanitory)

Or sometimes I'm a Roman (Roman numerals)

or a 1940's scientist. (atomic clock)

I am sometimes big and sometimes small (again self-explanitory)

but to you, I am collassal (clocks are very important)

but even then, I need your help

to guide me on my way. (You need to reset clocks sometimes.)
