In this case, your check would go: g=q? no r=u? no e=e? yes e=u? no n=e? no no of x's: 1 next check o's: g=u,e,u, or e? no r=q,e,u,e? no skip first e (already an x) e=q,u,e,e? yes n=q,u,e,u? no no of o's: 1 I hope that makes sense...
