Question

A whole village crowded together at the edge of the lake, they all came for a common purpose.

To see the man who could walk on water.

Many bets were placed, many a dreamer imagined striking it rich on the enourmous sums of money they would win.

The man then took this legendary step from the edge of the bridge onto the water.

He used no artificial tools.

He only had him and the clothes on his back.

Yet he stayed above the surface of the water and could walk around without a thought.

How did he do it??

As the question states that, " he used no artificial tools". Hence he can use some natural tools. For example , he was using the support of two big fishes(fishes are natural) or supported by two big tortoises.

If there is a need to get technical - when ice is subject to direct pressure, like someone's foot, it melts. So the man was actually walking on liquid water - assuming a reasonable winter temperature.

Well, since we're getting "technical"...

The above statement is not always true. It totally depends on the ice temperature and how much pressure you exert. When ice skating, a small layer of water is formed because you are exerting all of your weight on a very small surface area (the width of the blade). In fact, that's why you would have great difficulty skating on the ice at the south pole most of the time. When it's -80C outside, it's too cold to create the film of water below your skate that's necessary to skate properly.

And to whoever said that he should be worried about falling through if he's walking on the lake... Not really an issue if it's the middle of winter in most parts of Canada... I suppose you would be surprised to see me driving a pickup truck on the lake in the midle of winter, towing an ice-fishing cabin, and people ripping around on quads and snowmobiles...

1.) The lake was frozen.

2.) He was technicaly walking on water because there is water molecules trapped under his feet

OR

3.) He has REALLY BIG feet ( enough to spred out his wieght for the water to hold him up)

1) winter; the lake was frozen

2) the lake was either incredibly shallow or there were rocks or other things directly under the surface, so it looks like it

3) the man was actually a jesus lizard :D

also it would make sense if the water density could hold him like say u mix the great salt lake and the dead sea and add 500 more gallons of salt maybe he would be able to bob on the water
