Question

Hello all,

I have returned to the den. I have internet at my flat now, so should be able to make regular occurrences here again. To get back into the mindset of the weird and wacky thinking, the way of the den, I am stating back with a game. It is hopefully new to you guys ( not sure what everyone has been up to, though I do notice some post counts have increased a lot). Enjoy.

The Scenario:

One year ago, Robert Killingsworth bought the farm. Six months later he was dead — leaving his widow Elizabeth to tend to their fledging vineyard and winery on the outskirts of California's wine country. With mounting debts and no idea how to run a business, Elizabeth is desperate to sell the farm and recoup her losses. The fierce drought and shaky economy, however have left Killlngsworth Farm on the market for far too long.

One early autumn day, six people passed through the gates of Killingsworth Farm to see Elizabeth...

One of them, a cold—blooded Killer:

Michael Nightshade — This real estate developer from New York arrived unannounced with plans to buy Killingsworth Farm and develop it into a low-cost housing community. His boss ordered him to obtain the Killlngsworth land at any cost...

Dr. Chelsea Barren — After suffering a nervous breakdown, this psychiatrist and near-best-selling author moved to Northern California to relax... but she moved next door to the Killingsworths instead.

Enrique Graves — This young drifter wandered onto Killingsworth Farm last year just as Robert and Elizabeth were moving in. Elizabeth took a liking to Enrique and he has lived on the farm ever since — tending to the fie|ds... among other things.

Vicki D’Adly - Elizabeth’s estranged sister from New Jersey, she and her husband were traveling on vacation when Vicki decided to drop by Killingsworth Farm for a visit... a surprise visit.

Norman D’Adly - A real estate broker from New Jersey and husband to Vicki, Norman is trying to salvage his job and his marriage while travelling across the country on vacation.

Kathryn Lawless — Best friend to Elizabeth, this local librarian and historian has a flare for the eccentric. She lives down the road with her 15 cats and loves true crime - especially the mysterious unsolved death of Robert Killingsworth.

Which of these people has a secret worth killing for? Come to Killingsworth Farm and find out before it is too late?

Round Two — The Search

All the characters have ( or soon will be ) been given more information.

Good luck for round 2

The Scenario:( for the detectives knowledge)

A quarter of an hour has passed. You hastily gulped down a glass of the Killingsworth Farm wine, but a somber mood still lingers in the air. Where is Elizabeth Killingsworth? You feel ill at ease with this strange group of

uninvited guests. One of the other guests — you do not notice who — suggests the group split up to find Elizabeth.

You wonder about the people around you and the circumstances that brought each person to Killingsworth Farm today. As the group begins to spread in different directions in search of Elizabeth, you decide to use this opportunity to find out more about the others.

well i was going to do a post but i saw that round two has started... and yes you spotted me YS!

ill just answer this (dont include in round 2)

Why, hello Enrique. Nice to make your acquaintance. However, why is it that, if Elizabeth hired you, you are afraid you will have to leave now that Robert has died?

well i was going to do a post but i saw that round two has started... and yes you spotted me YS!

ill just answer this (dont include in round 2)

"well with Robert gone, the farm will not be able to make money as much as it used to and Elizabeth was paying for my college attendence... Also i do not wish to burden Elizabeth now that Robert has passed...."

To YS

" I have been thinking about leaving the farm for a while and now that Real Estate agents have come looking to buy the land i think it is time to act"

Interesting...

So Robert dying caused the farm (is it a vineyard?) business to start failing. Whoever killed him might have know that would happen...Here's a possible scenario:

Someone wanted to buy the farm land for some reason (i.e. to develop or perhaps there is buried treasure there?). Robert refused to sell. The person killed Robert in order to make the farm fail and get Elizabeth to sell it...

Actually...from the map it looks like the culprit might know that the government is planning to extend the highway through there...and would pay a pretty penny to buy out the farmland...so the culprit planned to buy the farm cheap from Elizabeth and then sell it to the government for a hefty profit...

Anyone have any connections that might get inside info from the government? ;P

Ah, had I forgotten to mention? That's right...so sorry. I was a (rather successful) psychiatrist for those big-name stars. May I say there's nothing more boring than listening to famous people talk about ther "problems".

Edit:  Somehow taliesin's post decided to turn grey on me.

Kathryn ( Star Tiger ), Do you have any Pets?

Well, of course! Those who know me know that I am the proud owner of 15 cats. They're just such sweethearts! Sure they might be hard to handle sometimes, but their darling cat-iness makes it all worth it. There's very few things that I love more than them! Not even my several nieces or nephews can quite which my adoration to my pets (although they come pretty close!). Oh yes, I forgot to mention: although I may be unmarried, I am hardly lonely with all my nieces, nephews, Elizabeth, friends and the lovely townspeople!

" I have been thinking about leaving the farm for a while and now that Real Estate agents have come looking to buy the land i think it is time to act"

So eager to leave the scene of crime? :o

Ah, so the Real Estate Agents have just become suspects!

Haha! Just what I was talking about! Are you sure you just came here to "escape work", or make the biggest profit in your career?

Oh no, our relationship is strictly business related. Someone else here I know? ...No, I don't believe so...unless you count...never mind...

OOC: Er...ok I made a mistake reading my round one PM...from the sound of it it said I had never met Elizabeth before, but in fact, I saw her this morning >.< Sorry for the mix up...

Just to note, that since giving you round two information, may make some of your previous statements false. Don't think too much on it, and it will happen to everyone.

New information on round two will override information from round one if inconsistent.

Just work with the information you can.

So eager to leave the scene of crime? :o

"if i was eager to leave the 'crime scene' i would of left 6 months ago. No i wish to leave soon as this death has become rather complicated and what now with all the Real Estates agents shoving their big noses (no offence intended, just playing character) into everything i would like to go back to a quieter life, like it used to be here."
