i was thinking the same thing, the numbers follow the rules for fibonacci except for the fact that 8+5 doesnt = 11

Think fibonacci with an added twist.

Can you give the next five numbers and describe the pattern? If so, then do (in a spoiler of course)!

Predict the next five numbers.

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 11, 19, 30

49, 79, 128, 177, 305

Initial number (1), followed by 5 Fibonacci increases,

then add from 2 back for a twist, followed by 5 Fibonacci increases,

then add from 2 back again, followed by 5 more Fibonacci increases,

rinse, repeat...

was thinking same thing but didnt know if it was every five numbers, or on the even numbers you add from two numbers back. the sequence doesnt show enough to determine, or its just the messed up fibonacci sequence.

49, 79, 128, 177, 305?

Every number is the sum of the two numbers before it.

Except for every seventh number which is the sum of every sixth number and every fourth number.

That works, but it is not what I was looking for. My apologies for the ambiguity.

You almost have it!

I apologize for not giving enough information. I hope this next term helps.

Maybe this is not what you're looking for, but meets my expectation:

It's a fibonacci series but even numbers are added with two previous number instead of one previous number.
