Question

Agents Andromeda and FitzKaos were on their way to meet a man that had some valuable information stored on a microchip. The rendezvous place was at that person’s apartment.

The door to his apartment was unlocked. When they got in, even though the place was in dark, it was evident that somebody got to the man before they managed to. The apartment was thoroughly searched and the man was lying dead on the ground on his back.

“What now?” Andromeda was worried. “Do you think he’d given them the chip?”

“No idea...” Fitz was reserved in making assumptions. “Let’s just look around before we call it in.”

“Look where? I don’t even know where to start?!” Andromeda was annoyed.

“Well let’s start here” said Fitz as he picked up a paper off the floor.

“This is not the right time to solve crossword puzzles” said Andromeda while Fitz was still looking at the paper ignoring his partner.

“Look!” Fitz pointed at the paper with his flashlight.

“Well... the good news is, the chip is still here! The bad news is one of us has to get it?! So... paper, scissors, rock?” Andromeda asked with a grin.

“I don’t think so” Fitz smiled, “I solved the puzzle you get the chip!”

Where is the chip? :D

No... you don't need to solve the entire crossword puzzle, in fact you don't need to add a single letter to the puzzle

Not exactly sure what that means, but the repeated letters are H I M O T W X.

Also, if you step far away from the computer screen and look at the black square, you can see the letter "F".

Well all those letters are there for a good reason, and the F from far away is just a coincidence

And I think that is important.

No... I don't think so  (I checked ten times ;))

does that mean no or a little bit?

OK then No! :)

connecting letters to make a picture?

AndromedasCrossword.png

Nope... :)

the letter "L" is the last letter of "3 down" and "5 across" significant?

Nah... :)

I noticed that there is every letter in the puzzle. is this important or not?

Well kinda is and isn't (it's hard to explain, when you see the solution you'll understand

;))

HAHA! So far we've established....

Yep, nothing.

We know that we don't need to add letters or solve the entire puzzle.

We know that we don't need to anagram.

We know that the numbered positions usually associated with a crossword puzzle aren't specifically important.

We know that the letters that repeat are there for a reason. (duh)

We're looking for some method, that should be inherent in the puzzle itself, of linking individual letters into words. We could possibly be looking for a way to eliminate letters from the puzzle as that hasn't been mentioned yet.

*sigh*

:Grayven wonders silently if the blacked out squares are significant in their placement and/or number:
