Guest
Only one answer to this one: Okay, a woman is lying on a bed, two sticks next to her. She is dead, and the blanket was taken by the maid before the death was reported. 1-How did this woman die? 2-Why did the maid take the blanket?? The answer is very strange indeed. 0 dms172
i don't know how she died, but the sticks and the blanket were the parts of the stretcher used to carry her to the bed right?
0 Guest
The dead woman was lying in bed eating ice blocks (ice lollies - you know, flavoured ice on a wooden stick). She was just finishing her first, when tradgedy struck. The last large piece of ice broke off the stick, lodging in the poor woman's throat. Unable to breathe, the lady unfortunately expired. Of course, the blockage in her throat melted, leaving no obvious evidence. The sticks on the bed are from both the ice blocks (the one which caused the incident, and the second one which the lady planned to eat next). Now, the maid entered the room and saw her employer laying peacefully on the bed. Presuming that she was asleep, the maid dutifully removed the blanket for cleaning after noticing that there was melted ice block staining the otherwise unblemished article. So,in answer to the question: 1- The woman choked to death on an ice block 2- The maid removed the blanket for cleaning. The sticks from the ice blocks remained with the body as it was only when the maid returned from the laundary to dispose of them, that the awful truth came to light. Well, it's the only explanation I could think of! :oD Edited October 21, 2008 by SkinnyInny

0 Faizaan
the maid probably did not kill the woman. i assume this cuz it is a first thought. and this was probably made to confusimicatize people like me. man, that must've been hard for people to understand ... even me maybe the woman died of choking on a third stick? that was probably way off!! 0 Guest
I'm never very keen on this type of puzzle. There always seem to be plenty of correct answers, but only one that the riddler was thinking of. For example: The lady in the bed was very elderly. She died in bed. When the maid came, she found it was very warm in the room and removed the blanket, assuming the woman was in a deep sleep. Only later did she realise the woman was dead. The sticks were her walking sticks. She always kept a spare in case one snapped.

0 Guest
What kind of stick? Are they long? or thick? made of what? 1. The woman got stabbed in her back to death using one or both of the sticks. But the killer wiped the blood from the stick/s to the blanket. 2.The maid pressume that the woman is just sleeping and the blood-stained blanket was just her monthly period, that's why she took it off to the woman for a cleaning. 0 Guest
ok since u ppl are goin crazy bout this one, im postin the solution and skinny u were closest 1- the woman committed suicide. she ate frozen poison. 2- soon after the woman died, the maid cleaned the room. the woman was assumed to be asleep, so yeah, she dutifully took the blanket, since some of the poison melted on the blanket. the maid realized it was poison later on because the door was left open, and a neighbor in the apartment reported a death. yes, its crazy
