Question

I created this one myself..we'll see hw it goes. :D

Five convicts live in a row of cells in the state penitentiary. All have confessed the true verdict of their crime to a trusted friend. Can you find the innocent man?

-The Man who lives in 204 was convicted of Sexual Assault

-The man convicted of murder confessed his guilt to the Pastor

-The Man convicted of Arson works in the Yard

-Fritz was not convicted of Grand Theft or Aggrivated Robbery

-Rex lives in cell 202

-The Man who works Kitchen Duty confessed to his Rabbi

-The Man in 203 punches License Plates and is friends with the man convicted of Arson

-Billy Jack does not work on the Chain Gang or visit with a Rabbi

-The man who committed Sexual Assault confessed the same verdict as the man who works in the Lavatory

-Fritz enjoys his job in the Yard

-The Man who lives in 201 does not see a Therapist and neither does BillyJack

-The Priest listened to Bubba’s confession

-The man convicted of Grand Theft does not live at either end of the cell block

-Rex lives next to Clyde but not next to Billy Jack

-The man who lives in 205 lives next to a guilty man

-One of the men was framed for his crime and confessed his innocence to his Attorney

Ok i think i got it,

but seriously,

the innocent convict is Fritz who was convicted of Arson, and works in the Yard, cell block 201

unless I went wrong somewhere which is possible.

Also a couple of notes

-Fritz was not convicted of Grand Theft or Aggrivated Robbery is not needed because other lines say he works in the yard and the yard worker was convicted of arson

is friends with the man convicted of Arson - i don't think the friends has any meaning

Can you explain how you decided 202 is grand theft and 203 is robbery? I got the same answer as preflop where the two are indeterminable

The reason that some of these clues are redundant is for no other reason that to introduce you to a new catagory. In the instance with Fritz, this was your first introcuction to Grand Theft and Aggrivated Robbery (which you obviously need to create your chart.) And, you are right "friends with" has no meaning other than to say that that convict was not the same one who committed Arson.

After I wrote my original list of clues I went back and tried to solve the puzzle myself. When I couldn't do it with the information given I had to add a few more clues...this is where some of the redundancy comes from.

Thanks for pointing those out thoughI will be more careful in subsequent puzzles.

Clyde 204 sexual assault rabbi kitchen duty
Bubba 205 robbery priest chain gang

Rex lives next to Clyde but not next to Billy Jack

So Clyde has to be in 201 or 203 (I believe in 203)

203 Clyde grandtheft license plates therapist guilty

204 Bubba sexual assault lavratory priest guilty

205 Billy Jack robbery kitchen duty rabbi guilty

close, you did get the innocent person correct, but I think you want to recheck the rest.

This is a good puzzle. Most of you have it wrong though.

Fritz 201 Yard Attorney Arson

Billy Jack 205 Lavatory Pastor Murder

Bubba 204 Chain Gg Priest Sex a**

Rex 202 Kitchen Rabbi Grand Theft or Robbery

Clyde 203 Licence P Therapist Grand Theft or Robbery

I don't think the solution gives enough info to find out about Grand Theft Auto or Aggravated Robbery, but I have narrowed it down to Rex or Clyde.
