HINTS I'm trying something different here. The aim is to name the LINKS and then lock the chain in the end by guessing the LOCK! The thing is that the last letter of the first link is the first letter of the second link and so on. Last letter of the 8th link is the first letter of the LOCK and the last letter of the LOCK is the first letter of the 1st LINK! So in the end you have to lock this riddle in a circle!!! The words are different length! All of them are nouns except 6th (adjective) and 8th (transitive verb) I think this is more than enough hints! Have fun! I realized that I should have picked words of the same length, or just nouns or something specific, cause there can be a lot off correct answers. So I'm going to reveal the answer this time and tie the loose ends on this concept! Here is the solution, sorry if I caused any headache! I have to work it out and make it work properly! 1. AlcoholiC 2. ChocolatE 3. EchO 4. OrnithologisT 5. TeA 6. AbsenT 7. TotalitariaN 8. NominatE lock. EnigmA I should have been more clear on the LINK riddles cause it can be a lot of things! You shouldn't feel that there were lots of 'correct solutions' - only your solution is the one that fits all of your clues as you intended, and we are trying to follow your thought processes. On the other hand, making your clues more restrictive in some way (like having the same number of letters for each word) will make it clear to us that our answers are incorrect, and save you having to say 'no' every time! Annoyingly, I had NominatE firmly in my head as the transitive verb for #8, and was desperately trying to think of a synonym which began with a D to fit my answer for #7! And if only puzzlegirl hadn't laid off the booze she might have got #1! Looking forward to the next one.... edit: and I'm glad to get my 100th post on your puzzle! I wanted to add a hint to say that you shouldn't go word by word and write down those answers you are absolutely sure about. Those answers would help you then to fill the blanks.
