can a brown tent in a desert be called camouflage? yes or no?

it depends on if it's night or day and at which angle someone will be viewing the camoflauge (ie: from ground level or from above)

camouflage is when you blend into the background. Camouflage is also a word used to describe something mottled with several shades of brown and green, frequently used, especially by the army, to blend into the background.

so if you use the first definition, then yes.

if you use the second, then no.

not much of a riddle, though.

Hmm...

I would have to agree with everyone else...

(Maybe the tent could be covered by sand a little  )

However.. this seems much more like a question for opinions...rather than a riddle or puzzle...

I would like the say that Antarctica is also a desert. (place that receives little or no precipitation)

Therefore, if you pitched a tent there.... It wouldn't really be a camouflage.

But there's no one there to hunt you either.

I'd say no for the following reason: Sand is not monochromatic. There are variations in color to take into account, as well as the effect of shadow. A brown tent would be too uniform in color and would stand out against the shifting backdrop of the desert. If you look at the camo worn by troops in the desert you'll see what I mean.

I'd say it depends on the desert as well as the shade of the tent. Most deserts aren't just dunes like they show in movies. Most deserts have a lot of plant material, including small trees, as well as rocks. Not just sand. So I would say no, although a brown tent would be more camouflaged than, say, a black one, or a pink one.
