Question

A boy was 12 years old in 1982. THE SAME BOY was 7 years old in 1987. How is this possible?

EDIT: oops i meant 7 years old, but the riddle isn't really changed.

It was BC. (Chaelpaddy had it. The math actually makes sense if you just count the years. 1987 would have been 5 years before 1982, thus, the 5 year age difference. There is no seven year difference.)

There are multiple answers, but this is likely what you're looking for. Time is decreasing in value. Likely this is due to the time period being based on BC (Before Christ >.>) rather then AD (Anno Domini >.>)
