Can you determine who painted what and who won? At a recent painting competition, Eileen's rendition of a Monet was not last. Jenny only just managed to avoid last place and came third. The lady who painted a Picaso was very successful and took first place. Ada beat the lady who painted the Van Gogh and the lady who painted the Taylor beat Vera.

It is implied in the statement about Jenny that there are only 4 competitors, and we have 4 names. Jenny may have painted either the Van Gogh or the Taylor. Vera cannot be the lady who painted the lady who painted the Picaso or the Taylor so she must have painted the Van Gogh and Jenny must have painted the Taylor which would make my chart look like this

That would tell me that Ada won, Vera would then be in last place because Jenny painted the Taylor and came in third, and Eileen is second, chart look slike this:

A little bit confusing when said Ada beat the person who painted Van Gogh make me thought by 1 place difference only at first.
