By taking the difference between the 1st number and the following going progressively down the line i have noticed that the difference in numbers has gone to 13 every 4th difference with the last 2 differences being 13.... this is how I did that....

10-4=6

24-10=14

32-24=8

45-32=13

54-45=9

84-54=30

104-84=20

117-104=13

130-117=13

now... i am guessing the next number will be between 139-143

no, sorry, the next number in the sequence is not in that range. try comparing the two sequences, if that helps...

also, I'm looking for the next terms in both sequences, and the formulas... both sequences are posted because they are somehow related. you have to find out how! :)

Both sequences follow: even, even, even, even, odd, even, even, even, odd, even

no, I don't think that will help you much

will start posting hints in a few hours if no-one gets it or is on the right track.

What I meant from my previous post is that the series (should) follow the same pattern as the two you posted.

I'm not sure how you got this series using the same pattern(s). Unless you found a different pattern than the one(s) I originally had. Just to double check, based on the pattern you found, could you give the next two terms in each of the series I gave originally? That or explain (in spoiler, of course! ;)) the pattern for your series.

4, 10, 24, 32, 45, 54, 84, 104, 117, 130...

4*1,5*2,8*3,8*4,9*5,9*6,12*7,12*8,13*9,13*10

guess .. 14*11 =154

4, 8, 18, 20, 25, 24, 42, 48, 45, 40...

4*1, 4*2, 6*3, 5*4, 5*5, 4*6, 6*7, 6*8, 5*9, 4*10, ...

guess .. 3*11 = 33

I was working with the expansions. I can *almost see the pattern. :(

*first post. fun site.

sort of on the right track, but there are more steps. 154 and 33 are not correct.

how did you get this pattern?

1 * 4 = 4

2 * 6 = 12

3 * 10 = 30

4 * 11 = 44

5 * 13 = 65

6 * 14 = 84

7 * 18 = 126

8 * 20 = 160

9 * 21 = 189

10 * 22 = 220

first multiplier increments, difference between 2nd multipliers are 2,4,1,2,1,4,2,1,1. the differences of the differences are 2,-3,1,-1,3,-2,-1,0, the same as your other series (i.e. pick a starting point for the differences between the multipliers, you used 1 and 0, i used 2, and you can find the other multipliers). there must be some way of calculating the 2nd multiplier, i just haven't found it yet...

The difference between your two series is as follows:

0,2,6,12,20,30,42,56,72,90

or, 2+4+6+8+10... I used 3+6+9+12+15...etc to create the new series.

As this only gives me numbers which are parallel to the amount of entries in your original sequences I can not provid any additional numbers.

*Caution* Spoiler contains graphs.
