Question

The first number in the sequence I'm thinking of is 4.

The second number in the sequence I'm thinking of is exactly 6.75.

The next three numbers (rounded to 3 decimal places) are 9.481, 12.207, and 14.930

What is the pattern to this sequence?

As some help, a very similar sequence with the first five terms given is below. It may be just a bit easier (as there is no rounding for any of the first five terms.

2, 4.5, 7.11111111..., 9.765625, 12.4416, ...

N^(N-1)/(N-1)^(N-2)

So,

2^1/1^0 = 2/1 = 2

3^2/2^1 = 9/2 = 4.5

4^3/3^2 = 64/9 = 7.111

5^4/4^3 = 625/64 = 9.765

etc..
