Are these one way in some way - I'm out if it's US sports, I don't know the terms. Need to shed some ignorance I guess.

I wasn't thinking that it necessarily applied to sports, although it could. A google search yielded plenty of other uses.

Just try to stay in line (sideline or just agreeing with the side you are on)

I'm part of a place for a called-shot (Side pocket)

perhaps, to make it less obvious on the second to last line, and a little less experience specific on the last write them like this:
